Local Author wins Pulitzer

This year’s Pulitzer Prize for Fiction was awarded to Massachusetts author, Paul Harding, for his debut novel Tinkers.

The April 15, 2010 edition of the Boston Globe featured a page one article on the unlikely success of the novel.   The author, a former drummer for a rock band who grew up in the town of Wenham, has set his story in pre-industrial Massachusetts.

Overwhelmingly praised for its poetic prose, Tinkers is the first  novel published by a small independent house (Bellevue Literary Press) to be awarded a Pulitzer since 1981.
